Activate Growth and Change
Life is about becoming the happiest, most fulfilled version of ourselves. The path to becoming that person is not simple or easy. Distressing emotions, situations, and relationships complicate the way, and distract us from our potential. My role as a therapist is to offer support and guidance along your path. I share skills and insights and utilize therapeutic tools to build confidence and competence in managing problems and relationships. I approach therapy from a cognitive behavioral point of view utilizing therapeutic modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, and Relationship Enhancement Therapy. Everyone’s life path is different, and no one way is right. I believe the path is irrelevant if we don’t know the destination. I see therapy in four parts. The first part of therapy is figuring out what the destination is. The second part is charting a path to that destination. The third is identifying and learning skills and resources needed to make the journey. The fourth part is the journey itself. I will guide and encourage you in exploring and activating the four parts of your journey. Success in therapy rests on two aspects. First is your willingness to do the work of the journey. The second is the value of our relationship. With these two anchors in place, problems can be solved, barriers can be overcome, and you can become the version of you that you hope for.
